What is BIM ?

BIM stands for Building Information Modeling, a process defined to design and manage the information of your building in 3D.

On the technical side it means a database is collecting information about the different elements of your drawing including but not limited to their dimensions and physical properties.

On the practical side it means more productivity at each step of the project. You will draw faster thanks to Intelligent and parametric 3D Objects knowing how to behave one with the other. You may also extract information to get instantly 2D drawings or estimate the cost of the building.

Last but not least BIM enhances collaboration between professionals by sharing the same model and information. The engineers can for example calculate the HVAC and electrical installations directly from the 3D model designed by the Architect.
